President Joseph Keegan Hands Over His Gavel

Joe" Last Meeting

It was an eventful couple of days in the history of Local 506.   Brother Joseph Keegan presided over his final meeting as local president at our regular monthly meeting on Thursday, October 20.  At the same time an election was held to chose his successor.  It was a tightly contested election between Toby Charette, John McKay, Dave Miller, and Shawn Sly.  John McKayl was declared the winner after the ballots were counted and will fill out the remainder of Brother Keegan's term as president.

With the resignation of Vice President Shawn Sly to contest for the president position an election was held to fill the remainder of his term.  In a closely contested vote Brother Chris Darbyson prevailed over Brother Jason Braetz.

As is the custom in Local 506, members past and present gathered after work on Friday at the Pemberton Station Pub to give Joe their best wishes for the future.  Business Agent Butch Sidey presented Joe with a clock on behalf of the Local.  One without an alarm.

All the best Joseph and have a fantastic retirement.
