Position Overview:

As a Metal Fabricator, you will play a vital role in all stages of the production process using state-of-the-art equipment and fabrication techniques. This role includes advanced layout, forming, and structural fabrication within a dynamic and safety-focused shipyard environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Metal Fabricator, Boilermaker, or 5+ years of fabrication experience

  • CWB all-position FCAW Tacking Ticket (preferred)

  • ITA Marine Fitter Endorsement (ideal)

  • Strong safety and environmental awareness

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication

  • Ability to work positively in a team

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation

  • Experience fabricating metal structural parts (plates, bulkheads, frames)

  • Skilled in using jacks, turnbuckles, and fairing tools

  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varied weather

  • Willing and able to work all shifts

  • Advanced proficiency in grand block consolidation and understanding ship datum points

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $57.01/hour – Red Seal Journeyperson Rate

  • $48.46/hour – Experienced (5+ years) Non-Certified Fabricators

  • Double time for all overtime hours

  • Excellent health, welfare, and pension benefits after completing 480 hours

  • Unionized position with Marine and Shipbuilders CMAW Local 506
