Marine and Shipbuilders CMAW Local 506 is currently accepting applications for Red Seal Welders to support major shipbuilding projects in North Vancouver.
These high-profile government contracts ensure years of stable employment and growth in British Columbia’s shipbuilding industry.
Required Skills & Qualifications – Production Welders:

Red Seal Welder certification or minimum 4 years of welding experience

Valid CWB All Position FCAW ticket (minimum 6 months validity)

Proven experience with manual oxy/fuel cutting

Proficiency in air-arc gouging in all positions
-
Ability to pass a pre-employment FCAW weld test (required for dispatch) - conducted in North Vancouver
General Requirements:

Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Strong commitment to safety and environmental responsibility

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Ability to read and interpret welding procedures, blueprints, and drawings

Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varied weather

Willingness to work all shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
Compensation & Benefits:
-
$57.01/hour – Red Seal Journeyperson Rate
- $48.46/hr - Experienced (4+ years) non-certified welders (must still hold Valid CWB All Position FCAW ticket)

Double time paid for all overtime hours

Excellent health, welfare, and pension package after completing 480 hours
